How to install Scale Theme from the Shopify Theme Store on your store in just a few minutes.

Installation

Installing Scale Theme on your Shopify store only takes a few minutes. The theme is available on the Shopify Theme Store and installs directly from your admin.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • An active Shopify account (Basic, Shopify, Advanced, or Plus)
  • Admin access to your store

Step 1: Add the theme from the Theme Store

  1. Visit the Scale Theme page on the Shopify Theme Store
  2. Click Try theme or Add theme
  3. Select the store where you want to install the theme
  4. The theme is automatically added to your theme library
💡You can also access the Theme Store directly from your Shopify admin: Online Store > Themes > Visit Theme Store.

Step 2: Preview

Once added, Scale Theme appears in your theme library (Admin > Online Store > Themes). Before publishing:

  1. Click Customize to open the theme editor
  2. Browse through the different pages (home, product, collection)
  3. Verify that everything displays correctly with your products
💡Always keep a copy of your current theme. Before publishing Scale Theme, click Actions > Duplicate on your active theme to create a backup.

Step 3: Publish

When you are satisfied with the preview:

  1. Go back to Online Store > Themes
  2. On Scale Theme, click Actions > Publish
  3. Confirm the publication
⚠️Publishing replaces your active theme immediately. Make sure you have backed up your previous theme.

Step 4: Initial setup

After publishing, a few essential settings to configure:

  1. Colors: Customize your color palettes in the theme settings
  2. Logo: Add your logo in the header settings
  3. Navigation: Configure your menus in Online Store > Navigation
  4. Pages: Check your pages (contact, FAQ, etc.)

Updates

Scale Theme receives regular updates with new features, bug fixes, and performance improvements. Updates are managed automatically through the Shopify Theme Store:

  1. When an update is available, a notification appears in Online Store > Themes
  2. Click Update to apply the new version
  3. Your content customizations (text, images, products) are preserved
  4. Your code modifications (if any) may need verification
ℹ️Shopify automatically keeps a copy of your previous version. If an update causes issues, you can revert to the earlier version.

Installation FAQ

What Shopify versions is the theme compatible with? Scale Theme uses the Shopify 2.0 architecture (Online Store 2.0). It is compatible with all Shopify plans: Basic, Shopify, Advanced, and Plus.

Can I use Scale Theme with my existing apps? Yes, Scale Theme is compatible with most Shopify apps. Application blocks (@app) are supported in all sections.

Does the theme support multiple languages? Yes, Scale Theme is translated into 33 languages. The translation is applied automatically based on the language configured in Shopify.

How are updates managed? Updates are offered directly in your Shopify admin. You choose when to apply them. Your content customizations are preserved.
